OK, I am gearing up for an edit battle on Be-Mag.

I have:

a SHARP mini-DV viewcam from 2004 or 2005
buttload of tapes
tripod
Adobe Premiere CS4 (still learning)
After Effects CS4 (still learning)
1 TB external HD
2 GB RAM
two 1.5 GB processors

my questions are:

will the age of my camera severely affect the quality of the footage, even if the tapes are new? it is in sound mechanical condition.
would an edit of all stationary angles (camera on tripod only, no human operator) be a No-No?
any good tutorial site for Premiere that anyone can recommend?
any general advice?
