Old Schooler Back on the scene Empty
PostSubject: Old Schooler Back on the scene   Old Schooler Back on the scene EmptyWed Dec 10, 2008 2:33 pm

Hey all,

I just started blading again this year. I started back in 94 in the days of Arlo and Chris Edwards and stopped riding around 99. Ive been reading up on the industry and whats hot and whats not these days and I have also hit a few of the skateparks that Indy has to offer now. My problem is I have no idea were the local street spots are or know any riders anymore. I basically have spent the last year trying to find skates that I like and try to get the feel for it again. Which after a 10 year break hasn't been easy. Basically if you guys don't mind a rusty old dude hanging out and tring to get back in the groove of things I would like any help you guys could offer.

Thanks

Welcome! Tell us some more about yourself.

What's your name? How old are you? (I'm almost 28 so don't feel bad if you are getting on in age Smile )

Who did you used to skate with?

What have you been doing since you stopped way back then?

I have a pair of size 11 1997 K2 Fatty Pros for sale that have never been grinded in.

Or some slightly used size 11 K2s from about 2005, without frames or wheels:

My name is Jason

Im 32 (be 33 this weekend)

Just some friends that have long sense stopped as well. They quit before I did.

I used to DJ raves, then I got Marred got in to the IT (computers) industry, got divorced, and decided to start skating again. hehe.

I've always loved skating. Wish I hadn't quit. It sucks cause I cant really do much tricks beside Frontsides, and Souls right now.

As for skates I'm pretty set. When I started skating again I started buying all kinds of skates to see what I would like.

After trying everything from Deshi to Xsjado, I found that I prefer Roces and Valo. I did just get a pair of Xsjado's right before winter so I'm still trying those out.

Matter of fact know anyone looking for some skates cause I have some size 11 Deshi CH1s and Size 10 Rollerblade DT2s I need to get rid of.

I've been out to the parks in Indy a couple of times but I never run into other Bladers (except on the Monon... hehe... wrong type of bladers). I was happy to have stumbled on this site to see there are a few of us still in Indy.

Oh here is a link to some pixs of the skates I've had... haha

Indy is starting to have a revival of skaters here lately, glad you could join back up. I've been skating for about 11 years so maybe we have skated together before. Matt Lorch still skates too.

I might be interested in the ch1's If you come out to the next big session I would love to check them out. I normally skate 11 1/2 or 12 but I might get lucky
